App Store Screenshots

Make App Store screenshots with device frames at Apple’s required sizes

Turn raw app screenshots into polished App Store marketing images with device frames, backgrounds and captions. The tool detects each device from the image size, starts you on Apple’s required iPhone 6.3″ size (1206 × 2622), and exports every iPhone, iPad and Mac size you add, including the new iPhone Duo displays, as alpha-free PNGs that App Store Connect accepts. Everything runs in your browser.

iPhone 6.3″ · Required for every iPhone app (Dynamic Island, medium display).

Click or tap the title, subtitle, device or an image to select it, then drag to move. Arrow keys nudge the selection, Delete removes a selected image, Escape deselects.

Every size takes 1 to 10 screenshots as JPEG or PNG, with no alpha channel. For landscape, swap width and height. Older iPhone and iPad sizes (6.1″, 5.5″, 4.7″, 12.9″, 11″ and smaller) are still listed under More sizes for apps that target those devices; App Store Connect scales your required sets down to them otherwise. Sizes are from Apple’s screenshot specifications. Our App Store screenshot sizes guide explains which sets are required, which ones scale, and how to fix common upload errors.

Getting a clean, consistent set

Background, frame, layout and text styles are shared by every screen in a size, so your set looks like one product page instead of ten separate images. When one screen needs to stand out, use the Customize link in that section, then Apply to all screens if you want that change everywhere. Sizes you add start as a copy of the required size, so design once and then adjust each extra size.

Keep captions short and specific to what each screen shows. The pre-flight checks scan your text as you type and warn about a missing required size, screenshots uploaded under the wrong device, low-resolution sources and text that is hard to read against the background.

Frequently asked questions

Which iPhone screenshot size is required in 2026?

Apple requires at least one screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island, medium display: 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels in portrait. That is the 6.3″ class (iPhone 15, 16 and 17 and their Pro models). Apple’s table also requires a large-display set: provide 6.9″ (1320 × 2868, recommended), or 6.5″ (1284 × 2778) if you don’t have 6.9″. Older advice that 6.5″ is the one mandatory size is out of date.

Do I need iPad screenshots?

Only if your app runs on iPad. Then Apple requires at least one 13″ iPad screenshot at 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732. The smaller iPad sizes are optional and are scaled from the 13″ set.

How many screenshots can I upload per size?

At least 1 and up to 10 per display size, as JPEG or PNG. The first one to three (depending on orientation) can appear in search results when you don’t have an app preview, so lead with your strongest screens. This tool keeps up to 10 per size and numbers the exported files in order.

Why does App Store Connect reject my PNG for having an alpha channel?

Apple’s spec says screenshots can’t include alpha channels or transparency, and browsers and most design tools save PNGs with an alpha channel even when every pixel is opaque. Every file this tool exports is encoded as a true RGB PNG with no alpha channel, so it passes that check.

Can App Store screenshots be landscape?

Yes. Apple accepts iPhone and iPad screenshots in landscape at the same sizes with width and height swapped, for example 2622 × 1206 or 2752 × 2064. Use the Portrait / Landscape switch under the preview. If every screenshot you add to an empty size is landscape, the canvas switches for you. Mac screenshots are always landscape.

Does App Store Connect scale screenshots to the other sizes?

Yes. Apple says that if your interface is the same across device sizes, you only need to provide screenshots for the highest required resolution and App Store Connect scales them down. Add extra sizes in this tool when you want a layout tuned to a different screen, such as the taller 6.9″ display.

What about the new iPhone Duo?

The iPhone Duo has two displays: outer 1398 × 2034 and inner 2007 × 2853. Duo screenshots are optional for now and earn a badge on your product page. Starting in April 2027 they’re required for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later. Add both Duo sizes from the iPhone tab.

What shouldn’t I put on my screenshots?

Screenshots should show the app in use, not just title art, a login page or a splash screen (guideline 2.3.3), and shouldn’t mention or show other mobile platforms or app marketplaces (2.3.10). The pre-flight checks also flag pricing, URLs and unverifiable award claims, along with low text contrast and screenshots uploaded under the wrong device.

Are my screenshots uploaded anywhere?

No. Rendering, PNG encoding and zipping all happen in your browser. Your project is saved in this browser’s storage so you can come back to it, and your unreleased screens never leave your machine.
